700 attacks perpetrated by the Israeli Occupation and its colonizers during January 2023
Ramallah 1/2/2023- The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) indicated that 700 colonial attacks were perpetrated by the Israeli Occupation and its colonizers during January 2023.These attacks include direct assault on Palestinian citizens, vandalism, bulldozing lands, uprooting trees, property confiscation, closures, checkpoints, and physical injuries.
The Commission pointed out, in its monthly report “the Israeli Flagrant Violations In the occupied Palestine during January 2023”, that these attacks concentrated in Nablus which witnessed 131 attacks. However, there were 128 attacks in Jenin and 105 attacks in Bethlehem. Mu’ayyad Shaa’ban, the Head of the Commission, said that the recent Israeli government showed its ugliest ever face of brutal colonialism by desecrating Palestinian blood, land and property, pointing that 35Palestinians were martyred in one month.
The Commission indicated that the number of the colonial attacks carried out by colonizers, in January 2023, is 150, included their attempt to establish 611 new colonial outposts in several areas. These attacks concentrated in Nablus Governorate which witnessed
72 attacks.
Mr. Shaa’ban said, "In January, the Israeli Occupation Authorities issued 55 notices of demolition and construction moratorium, targeted Palestinian facilities, under the pretext of non-licensing, most of which were concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Bethlehem, and Salfit.
In its press release, the Commission stated that the Israeli Occupation Forces bulldozed more than 541 dunums of citizens' lands in the governorates of Salfit and Nablus, in order to facilitate the transfer of these lands for the benefit of the colonizers.
Mr. Shaa’ban pointed out that the number of demolitions carried out by the Israeli Occupation Forces during January is 81 demolitions; targeted 94 houses, commercial facilities, and sources of livelihood. These demolitions concentrated in the governorates of Jerusalem, Jericho, and Hebron.
He, also, pointed out that 758 trees, most of which were olive trees, were uprooted by the Israeli colonizers. 285 trees were uprooted in Ramallah governorate. Meanwhile, 200 trees were uprooted in Nablus Governorate and 100 in Nablus.
Mr. Shaa’ban noted that the Israeli Occupation Authorities, in the month of January, had deposited and approved 3 new colonial plans in order to add new residential units and to change lands’ classification within these colonies.
Mr. Shaa’ban added that the Israeli cabinet had issued 27 decisions targeting Palestinian citizens to restrict their movement and to impose new facts. He noted that these decisions were remarkable in terms of their compatibility with the extreme right-wing fascist character of the new government. That is, Israeli government launched, among its decisions, a clear attack on the Palestinians, targeting the land and the human being by tightening a military security grip that did amount to a war crime.
