Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC)

CWRC is a Palestinian governmental commission affiliated to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It was established in accordance with Article (3) of the Presidential Decree of His Excellency, President Mahmoud Abbas. Hence, its main tasks are; activating international resolutions regarding the Annexation & Expansion Wall, including the decision of the International Court of Justice in Hague which was adopted in  2004, providing legal protection for Palestinian citizens whom their rights, lands, livelihood and property that are threatened with confiscation and destruction by the Israeli occupation authorities and Israeli settlers, providing the necessary support (resilience) to Palestinian citizens affected by the Israeli occupation procedures, colonial policies and the colonizers' attacks, and thus prosecuting the institutions, people, entities and companies working in the field of colonial settlement/expansion  on Palestinian occupied lands.

The CWRC mandate is represented in the following fields:

  • Peaceful Popular Resistance & Supporting Steadfastness/Resilience : The commission's main activities in this domain are represented in supporting Palestinian steadfastness in threatened areas, confronting the colonial expansion projects and forced displacement for Palestinian communities and citizens, promoting rapid response towards urgent needs of Palestinian citizens in threatened areas in cooperation  with other partner national and international institutions, improving  the livelihood and economic empowerment of families headed by women in affected areas, and providing basic services to the threatened communities in the so-called area "C". In addition, the Commission seeks to strengthen the state of international solidarity with the rights of the Palestinian people by promoting the relations with international volunteers and solidarity groups and Human Rights activists, as well as it looks forward to strengthening voluntary peaceful popular resistance, and activating boycott to Israeli colonies'' products.
  • The Legal Department: The legal department in WCRC seeks to provide legal aid and protection to affected communities and citizens regarding land confiscation, demolitions, and other kinds of flagrant actions by the Israeli occupation state and its colonizers, revealing and exposing the crimes perpetrated by the different arms of the Israeli occupation authorities, like land looting, forgery of land and property ownerships, and other kinds of colonial activities on the Palestinian occupied land, and other colonial procedures, policies and laws. to the department  provides constant legal protection for Palestinian citizens and enhances their legal awareness, particularly in the threatened and affected communities, in addition to intensifying the lobbying and advocacy efforts towards Palestinian historical and human rights, networking and coordination with human rights institutions in order to strengthen the Palestinian presence on their lands, while also confronting the colonial plans including racist and forced displacement against Palestinian communities.
  • Violations Documentation & Publication Department: The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission monitors the flagrant colonial trends , assaults , plans and other flagrant violations against Palestinian citizens and their existence by the Israeli occupying state in the occupied Palestinian territories, by employing a set of monitoring and documentation tools that trace these violations and monitor the development of the Israeli colonial project. Moreover, it monitors the violations and attacks perpetrated either by the Israeli official institution or by the fanatic Israeli colonizers against Palestinian citizens and their lands. Furthermore, the department updates its databases and maps in accordance with the incoming data that support the documentation and monitoring process, including the figures and statistics. The documentation & publication department in CWRC also issues periodic violation reports that highlight the most prominent colonial violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and reveals the Israeli colonial plans including confiscation of Palestinian private lands, and other colonial polices including the masie destruction of Palestinian property and  forced displacement and other racial discrimination adopted by this racist Israeli government. The Commission seeks accuracy in its documentation processes, and provides the political, local and international human rights institutions with the necessary information and data in this field.
