Ramallah, June 6, 2026: The head of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Minister Mu'ayyad Sha'ban, stated that Israeli occupation forces and colonizers carried out a total of 1,659 attacks during the month of May, in continuation of the systematic terrorism practiced by the occupation state against the Palestinian people, their land, and their property. Mr. Sha'ban clarified in the Commission's monthly report, titled "Occupation Violations and Colonial Expansion Measures," that the occupation army carried out 1,108 attacks, while colonizers carried out 551.

He noted that the attacks were concentrated primarily in the governorates of Hebron and Ramallah equally, with 319 attacks each, followed by Nablus with 301 and Bethlehem with 212. This is a clear indicator of the intensity of systematic targeting in these areas.

Mr. Sha'ban explained that the attacks varied and intensified, encompassing direct physical violence, uprooting of trees, burning of fields, denial of farmers' access to their land, seizure of property, as well as demolition of homes and agricultural structures. He noted that these practices coincide with the closure of vast areas of Palestinian land under the pretext of security, while providing protection and support to colonizers to enable their expansion within those areas.

Two Martyrs Shot by Colonizers and a Peak of Ongoing Terror

Mr. Sha'ban stated that the 551 colonizer attacks signify a continuation of the peak of colonizer terror targeting Palestinian villages and Bedouin communities, concentrated in Hebron with 146 attacks, Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 132, and Nablus with 126. He added that colonizer attacks since the beginning of 2026 have reached 2,567.

He further stated that colonizers caused the martyrdom of two citizens in May in the governorates of Salfit and Ramallah: 29-year-old Qusai Rayan was shot by colonizers while in captivity, and succumbed to his wounds days later, while 16-year-old child Yousuf Ka'abneh was shot dead by colonizers on the lands of Jaljulia, bringing the total number of martyrs killed by colonizers since the start of 2026 to 17.

He added that colonizers carried out 380 acts of property vandalism and land-levelling, and 78 acts of confiscation and theft of Palestinian property. Their attacks also targeted vast tracts of Palestinian land, and, with the assistance of the occupation army, resulted in the uprooting, destruction, and poisoning of 7,222 trees, including 3,317 olive trees, distributed across: Hebron (3,293 trees), Ramallah and Al-Bireh (30), Nablus (1,370), Qalqilya (1,168), Bethlehem (448), Jenin (723), and Salfit (190).

Mr. Sha'ban emphasized that these figures clearly reveal the adoption of systematic policies aimed at imposing a coercive, expulsive environment, translated into forced displacement operations carried out through colonizer terror under the direct protection of occupation authorities. He clarified that these practices aim to empty the land of its people and undermine Palestinian presence, particularly in Bedouin communities. He added that the displacement of families and destruction of property, land, and trees constitutes a compound crime targeting both people and place, forming part of a project of gradual de facto annexation managed through organized escalation of violence, one that has not stopped despite its transparent nature and ongoing international condemnations.

Attempts to Establish 12 New Colonial Outposts

Mr. Sha'ban indicated that colonizers attempted to establish 12 new colonial outposts since the beginning of May, predominantly agricultural and pastoral in nature, in the governorates of Nablus (6 attempts), Salfit (2 attempts), and one each in Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and Qalqilya. Mr. Sha'ban confirmed that the escalation in outpost establishment attempts cannot be occurring without clear instructions from the political level within the occupation state, with the aim of imposing facts on the ground and further fragmenting Palestinian geography; whereby colonizers carry out changes on the ground, and the official level then legalizes, consolidates, and converts these changes into fully serviced colonial sites.

Seizure of 283 Dunums of Citizens' Land

Mr. Sha'ban stated that in May, occupation authorities seized 283 dunums of citizens' land through four military seizure orders for security and military purposes, aimed at establishing three military sites in the Jenin governorate, specifically in the Jabriyet neighborhood in Jenin city, the village of Zabda, and the town of Qabatiya, while the fourth order aimed at establishing a buffer zone around a colony on the lands of Yatta city in the Hebron governorate.

Occupation authorities also issued an order declaring 400 meters of land in Kafr ad-Dik in the Salfit governorate as state land in favor of the colonial site "Leshem," and seized through a confiscation order a total of 177 dunums from Bireh city and the village of Beitin for the construction of a colonial road connecting the "Givat Assaf" outpost established on the governorate's lands.

Additionally, the so-called Blue Line team added 3 dunums from the lands of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, to areas previously confiscated since 1989, bringing the total confiscation of that parcel to 21 dunums.

Mr. Sha'ban affirmed that these declarations come at a dangerous political moment in which legislation, master plans, and confiscation orders converge with colonial tenders to form an integrated system aimed at imposing irreversible facts on the ground and transforming the occupation from a temporary condition into a permanent system of coercive sovereignty.

Demolition of 155 Facilities and 51 More Served with Demolition Notifications

Mr. Sha'ban indicated that occupation authorities carried out 70 demolition operations in May targeting 155 facilities, including 39 inhabited homes, 2 uninhabited homes, 99 agricultural structures, and 8 sources of livelihood, concentrated in Qalqilya with 57 facilities, Jerusalem with 50, Hebron with 14, Bethlehem with 11, and Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 12. Mr. Sha'ban noted that occupation authorities also distributed 51 demolition notifications for Palestinian facilities, continuing the campaign of restricting Palestinian construction and the natural growth of Palestinian villages and towns. The notices were concentrated in Bethlehem (22), Hebron (17), Jerusalem (7), and two in Jenin and Salfit.

Review of 19 Master Plans for Colonies

Mr. Sha'ban added that occupation planning bodies reviewed a total of 19 master plans in May in favor of West Bank colonies and within the occupation's municipal boundaries in Jerusalem, 10 master plans for West Bank colonies and 9 for colonies within Jerusalem's occupation municipal boundaries.

He clarified that the occupation municipality of Jerusalem deposited 4 master plans for subsequent approval and approved 5 others, while planning bodies affiliated with the so-called “Civil Administration” reviewed 10 master plans for West Bank colonies, approving 8 and depositing 2 for subsequent approval, with the aim of constructing a total of 657 colonial units on an area of 6,491 dunums.

Mr. Sha'ban noted that maps attached to the master plans indicated the occupation authorities' approval of two major plans: one concerning the Tappuah colony established on citizens' lands in the Nablus governorate, specifically on the lands of the village of Yasuf east of the governorate, carrying the number יוש/1/7/901, which aims to expand a colonial road covering approximately 4,693 dunums over a length of 18 km; and another targeting the lands of the Fari'a Valley through an expansion plan for the Massu'a colony established on Nablus governorate lands, carrying the number יוש/1/6/312, which aims to build 517 colonial units on 1,692.2 dunums of citizens' land.
